The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, which came into effect on July 1, 2004, is comprehensive security regime that seeks to establish an international framework of co-operation among governments, government agencies and the shipping and port industries to detect and take preventive measures against security incidents affecting ships and port facilities used in international trade.

The key to successful implementation of the ISPS Code rests with the development of practical Security Plans that are underpinned by comprehensive Security Assessments which examine and quantify the security risk profiles of a ship or port facility in terms of threats, vulnerability and consequences.

STET Maritime Bureau have comprehensive ship and port facility security consultancy services designed to assist ship owners and port facility operators to meet these challenges.
