Tanker Management Self Assessment (TMSA)

The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) has published a guide for ship operators containing best-practice that requires tanker owners and operators to self evaluate their approach to the ISM Code and to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and environmental excellence.

The self-assessment (Gap Analysis) covers the following 12 Elements.

03) – Recruitment and management of ships personnel
04) – Reliability and maintenance standards
05) – Navigational safety
06) – Cargo & ballast and mooring operation
07) – Management of change
08) – Accident investigation and analysis
09) – Safety Management
10) – Environmental Management
11) – Emergency procedures and contingency planning
12) – Measurement analysis and improvement

STET Maritime Bureau has experience of implementing management systems for large and small shipping companies and recognises that many of the smaller ship operators will require assistance in progressing the TMSA.

STET Maritime Bureau can provide a service to assist in the assessment process as well as to develop phased improvement plans that address safety and environmental performance to achieve higher standards of ship management and continuous improvement against best practice.
