ITWF's competency extends
to all levels of Naval training as illustrated:
Training of Midshipmen (Naval Officer Cadets) for a seagoing career that includes watch-keeping and basic naval professional disciplines such as navigation, weaponry, seamanship and communications. Training of commissioned officers in Officers-Under-Training Course (OUTC) and Naval Junior Officer Course (NJOC) - These are bridging courses for Junior Naval Officers, with each course conducted twice yearly. Subjects covered are advanced navigation, pilotage, management of bridge team, basic naval warfare, ocean passage planning, and communications planning. Additionally, ITWF also undertakes Special Warfare courses such as the annual Mine Hunting Officer Course (MHOC). Training of Naval Ratings and Specialists- These are Route-Of-Advancement (ROA) courses for the candidates' job enhancement and enlargement to qualify them to assume higher duties and heavier responsibilities, both in ranks as well as in specialized naval vocational competencies.
