The aim of the SSO Course is to equip participants with the knowledge and requirements of the ISPS Code and various relevant legislation.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Assume the responsibilities and perform the duties of the SSO.

• Implement and ensure the maintenance of the Ship’s Security Plan.

• Conduct security inspections of the ship to ensure adequate security measures.

• Understand the conduct of security assessment and audits.

• Conduct training, drills and exercises in accordance with the ISPS requirements as a competent trainer.

• Enhance security awareness and vigilance.

The SSO COURSE covers the following modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Maritime Security Threats and Requirements of the ISPS Codes

Module 2: Security Threats and Counter-measures

Module 3: Vulnerability Assessment & Risk Management Methodology

               (Virtual Simulation Exercise on Security Assessment)

Module 4: Operationalising Counter- Threat Security Programs & Standards

Module 5: Developing / Implementing Ship Security Manual & Security Plans

Module 6: Ship Security Officers as Security Trainers

Applicants of the SSO Course must satisfy the following conditions:

• Have at least 12 months of sea services as a Deck Officer or Marine Engineer.

CERTIFICATION: Qualification Certificates will be issued to participants who meet the course requirements.

Our SSO course is recognised by Maritime Port Authority of Singapore and Certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Seaskills.
