AIM
The aim of the PFSO Course is to provide the skills and
knowledge to those designated to perform the duties and
responsibilities of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO),
as defined in section A/2.1.8, Sections A/B -18.1) of the
ISPS Code.
OBJECTIVE OF COURSE
Covering all the requirements in A/B 18.1 of the ISPS Codes
and the IMO Model Course 3.21 (dated 06 Sep 2003), the PFSO
Course enables participants to:

Assume the responsibilities and perform the duties of
the PFSO.

Implement and ensure the maintenance of the Port
Facility’s Security Plan.

Conduct security inspections of the ship to ensure
adequate security measures.

Understand the conduct of security assessment and
audits.
-
Conduct training, drills and exercises in accordance
with the ISPS requirements.

Enhance security awareness and vigilance.

CERTIFICATION:
Qualification Certificates will be issued to
participants who meet the course requirements.
