AIM

To familiarise participants with the effects of spilled oil on the environment and the appropriate measures to take in dealing with oil spills.

 

FOR WHOM

For Masters and Engineers of Tugboats, and any person intending to obtain manning licence as port limit helmsman/2nd class engine driver.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Legislation and Enforcement

  • Characteristics of Spilled Oil

  • Methods of Containment, Treatment, and Removal

  • Dispersant Equipment

  • Practical Demonstration
