AIM

The aim of the ECDIS course is to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge on the characteristic and operations of ECDIS.

 

OBJECTIVE OF COURSE

At the end of the ECDIS Course, participants will be able to perform the following functions:

  • Able to operate ECDIS equipment

  • Use the navigational functions of ECDIS

  • Select and assess relevant information

  • Analyze system alarms

  • Appreciate capabilities and limitations of ECDIS

COVERAGE OF ECDIS COURSE

The ECDIS Course comprises of following Modules:

  • Legal Aspect & Requirements

  • Principal types of electronic charts

  • ECDIS Data & presentation of ECDIS Data

  • Specific functions and monitoring of route planning (offshore waters & confined waters)

  • Display of Other navigational equipments

  • Errors of display and interpretation

  • Ship’s logbook functions, indicators & alarms

  • Integrity monitoring

  • Documentation

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The ECDIS Course adopts the following methodology:

  • Lecture

  • Demonstration

  • Simulator Exercises

DURATION: 5 Days
