AIM
The aim of this course is to:

Prepare and equip participants with the necessary
knowledge and understanding of the basic principles
governing safe navigation of harbour craft within the
port.

Enhance the ability to perform voyage planning and make
use of the various aids to navigation.

Conform to proper reporting procedures and have an
understanding of the relevant Port Regulations when
operating within the port and its approaches.
OBJECTIVE OF COURSE
On completion of this preparatory course, participants shall
have the knowledge, understanding and application of the
following as applied in Singapore port:

Safe navigation.
-
Singapore Port Information.
-
Singapore Tide Tables & Tidal Streams.
-
SOLAS requirements on steering control systems.
-
Meteorological conditions.
-
Expectations for Oral & Written Examinations
