AIM

The Basic Safety Training Course aims at equipping participants with the theory and practical hands-on training and assessment for the following four modules of STCW 95 Section A-VI / 1-1 to 1-4.

  • Personal Survival Techniques

  • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting

  • Elementary First Aid

  • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility

OBJECTIVE OF COURSE

The basic safety modules are approved to satisfy the requirements for Basic Safety Training on all size vessel. There are no tonnage limits on this course. It is appropriate for all crew members.

 

COVERAGE OF BSC

The BSC covers the following topics:

  • Fire Prevention

  • Fire fighting Techniques

  • Compliance with Emergency Procedures

  • Safe Working Practices

  • Preventing Marine Pollution / MARPOL

  • Effective Shipboard Communications

  • Emergency Equipment

  • Hypothermia

  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • First Aid

  • Proper use of: Personal Flotation Devices

Immersion Suits

Life rafts

Abandon Ship Procedures & Equipment

 

CERTIFICATION: Proficiency Certificates will be issued to participants who meet the requirement of the course.

 

This course is conducted in collaboration with the Panama Maritime Training Services, Inc. and is approved by the Panama Maritime Authority.

 

DURATION: 4 Days
